Reinstall from scratch?

I have a raspberry pi which has a pretty messed-up installation of Sympl.

Is there an easy way to remove and reinstall Sympl whilst leaving the databases, websites and email boxes in place?

Or should I simply copy the /srv directory elsewhere, copy database dumps and start again from scratch?

You should be able to just remove all the sympl and other packages, then reinstall then again - none of then should delete any thing from /srv or similar.

If the OS is a mess, you’re probably best just doing a clean install and putting /srv, /etc/sympl and the databases back.

In the end, that’s what I did. The basic issue was that this computer had been configured to do so many different things that it ended up a mess.
