First logon to phpmyadmin

I have installed Sympl on AWS Lightsail and opened all ports on their firewall for now. When I try and logon to phpmyadmin none of the passwords espect seem to operate. I have tried the sympl user and the logon from /etc/phpmyadmin/config-db.php as well as using the sympl user and the password from /home/sympl/mysql_password as well as tring to logon as admin and root with their passwords but no joy. What am I doing wrong?

I installed Debian 9 and used the sympl auto installer and am using myip/phpmyadmin to get the logon page

Scratch that. I re-installed sympl and it appears something mush have not gone quite right first time around. This time I was able to logon as user sympl
