Due to the malign influence of Google and similar mail systems, users are not so good at deleting old email rubbish.
As a result their mailboxes go over quota and stop working.
Is there some way to set up an automated system to alert them of this before everything bungs up,?

Random idea…
A cron job that runs a php script on each mail folder to work out the folder size and email the user if it’s getting too big?
I’m sure other scripting languages are available!
Dovecot can run a script when quotas reach a threshold.
Look for ‘Quota Warning Scripts’ on:
https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/quota/

Yarp, a quota alert would be a great enhancement as would auto discovery during mailbox setup.
All a bit beyond me I’m afraid though!
